For
the first 100 days of PGMA administration, the Mines and
Geosciences Bureau in Bicol (MGB-V): generated, through the
Rapu-Rapu Polymetallic Project (RRPP), a projected total
investment of US$42 million and 1,684 jobs; prepared 1
quadrangle map of Rapu-Rapu; identified 3 spring sources in
Guinobatan, Albay; surveyed the proposed solid waste disposal
site in Sta. Elena, Camarines Norte; pursued its communication
plan for the minerals development in the fields of
interpersonal, print and broadcast media; processed and
forwarded to MGB-C.O. 4 mining applications for further
evaluation; spearheaded the conduct of regular quality
monitoring of the
Rapu-Rapu Polymetallic Project (RRPP) in Rapu-Rapu, Albay
through the multi-partite monitoring team (MMT) to check the
company’s implementation of its commitment on the EPEP, e.g.,
impacts of the present construction and development activities
on surface water, ambient air, biological conditions and noise
level;

and verified the implementation of the SDMP of IRDC/GCC in the
barangays of Palanog, Mauraro, Bariw, Quibongbongan, Miti and
Tagaytay benefiting direct
and secondary impact communities notable of which is the
scholarship support to 10 college students from the direct
impact areas, medical assistance, construction of road and line
canals, maintenance of street lights and water supply projects
aside from the employment generation that the company has
provided; prepared geologic hazard assessment map on the flood
hazard susceptibility and liquification potential maps of
Legazpi City quadrangle and monitored the implementation of
safety, health and environment program of IRDC/GCC including the
small-scale mining activities Aroroy, Masbate and the Provinces
