Bicol mining firms support PGMA 10-point agenda


Daraga, Albay - The Mines and Geosciences Bureau in Bicol (MGB-V) was able to rally the support of 9 mining firms in Bicol to the 10-point agenda of President Gloria M. Arroyo.

 The 9 mining firms confirmed their all out support in a caucus-meeting spearheaded by MGB-V chief Reynulfo A. Juan on September 13,2004 at the conference hall of the Bicol regional office of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR-V) in Rawis, Legazpi City. Director Juan invited the heads of the mining firms since they have the best management strategy and the commitments to support the 10-point agenda of PGMA.

 UBS Marketing Corp., Filminera Resources Corp. (FRC), United Paragon Mining Corp. (UPMC), Indophil Resources (Phils.) Inc., Platinum Group Metals Corp. (PGMC), Ibalong Resources and Development Corp./Goodfound Cement Corp. (IRDC/GCC), Rapu-Rapu Minerals Inc. (RRMI), Tambuli Mining Company, Inc. 


and Johson Gold Mining Corp. (JGMC) committed to provide jobs and employment opportunities, refocus their funds for social development management program in support of the education program, develop new policies to allow the public to use mineroads and ports and fast track opening of new mining projects.

It will be recalled that the 10-point agenda of the present administration of PGMA are: balanced budget, education for all, transport and digital infrastructure, electricity and water supply for all barangays, opportunity to create 10 million jobs, decongest Metro Manila, automated elections, terminating the NPA and MILF hostilities, healing the wounds of EDSA, decentralization and Subic-Clark hub.(LDValdez/
